Jack Varanelli's Homebuilt Pitts Radio Controlled Aircraft Kit

Built to look exactly like Chuck Robert's Pitts Airplane, here's a whole construction exhibit on how a foam airplane, covered with balsa wood is built.  This is a 1/3rd Scale Radio Controlled Model with a 2-1/2 HP motor.  A real nice exhibit

Pitts Aerobatic Aircraft Wing Building

    Shows many Pitts aircraft from building to flying This is the worlds most successful aerobatic aircraft. First built by Curtis Pitts using a 65 hp engine which he though would be excessive power, the homebuilt Pitts aircraft are  now built using engines with horsepower ratings of 450 hp and more. You too can build a Pitts aircraft in your own garage.  This Pitts Aircraft was built by Brent Smith.

Both real pictures and pictures that I took of a Pitts sitting on the ground and then had some computer fun with the planes.  The picture on the right was a Pitts S1S that wouldn't start and needed new fuel injector parts.  Well, I took the picture and here you see it in some super mountain flying action.

Curtis Pitts' First Production Prototype

Before you build a Pitts Aircraft for factory production, the process has to be built and tested and the plane needs to be tested too.  This is the 1st Prototype of the Pitts Airplane and in the exhibit above you will see the Pitts of Jim Klick which is the first Certificated Pitts.
