External hard disk drives are fantastic for mobility.
Seagate, Western Digital, Maxtor and others all produce T external hard disk that
will work with any Microsoft Windows XP file systems. With a 200 Gig drive you
can go on a super photo tour and use any computer to complete your work.
Then when you are home, the same super size drive system is instantly plugged
into your computer where you can complete your work. For the
videographer, some of the above manufacturers even have external hard drives
with as much 500 Gig of digital memory storage in their portable hard drives
which is perfect for people who want to do a lot of video work. USB
External drives are the easiest to use on your computer. Just plug and
play and you have a whole new disk drive on your computer system. For
video use, the entire external drive could be stored as a project is built
freeing up work space and computer desk space while you work on other computer
data projects. Another good way for video crews to use your external drive
is to transfer the control of the drive to other workers as the computer video
project moves from one phase to the other.
Emergency data backup and data recovery. The USB External
Hard Drives are fantastic for backing up all of your data and recovery of data
that stored in your file system. Long term storage will still be made on
DVD drives or other type of less expensive media, but any current projects and
all of the extra data needs to be backed up on a super simple drive system that
will instantly get back on the road with almost no loss of time. |
