What can a Pencil Teach Us about Life.

'First quality; you are capable of great things, but you must never forget that there is a hand guiding your steps. We call that hand of God, and He always guides us according to his will.
'Second quality, now and then, I have to stop writing and use a sharpener. That makes a pencil suffer a little, but afterwards, he's much sharper.   So you, too, must learn to bear certain pain and sorrow, because they will make you a better person.
'Third quality, the pencil always allows us to use an eraser to rub out any mistakes .   This means that correcting something we did is not necessarily a bad thing, it helps to keep us on the road to justice.
'Fourth quality, what really matters in a pencil is not its wooden exterior, but the graphite inside. So always pay attention to what is happening inside you.
'Finally, the pencil's fifth quality, it always leaves a mark. In just the same way you should know that everything you do in life will leave a mark, so try to be conscious of that in your every action

This is very interesting and a very good story about the pencil.  Jose Rizal was told to win the Philippines by the use of a pencil.  One great man said that the Pen is greater than the sword.  The pencil is so powerful because the mark that it leaves on the world never goes away and never fades like the ink of a pen.  The graphite will be there forever and ever.  It's telling us that what we do and the examples that we leave are the most important thing that we can do in the world.  We must all be role models for each other and for the young.  Our role models are who we watch and who direct our lives toward our future.  Who are our role models today?  Who are the role models that your kids looking at and listening to?  Our movies and music are now filled with role models.  Our politicians are our role models.  What are these role models telling us?  Think, Think THINK, is what my friend Cal told me when I was in a brain stall.  THINK who are your kids role models and what are they telling all of us.  After watching a series of 1960's movies, I can see that those movies were teaching us to rescue the needy, to become technicians, scientist, to be smart and to have good morals.  The role models today are telling us to be violent, sexy, filthy, greedy and hateful and arrogant.  Do our world problems show us the result of the role models.  You bet, the rich are getting super, super rich, while the poor are losing everything and living homeless in the streets of the richest countries in the world.  An article that I read about the homeless said that Chicago alone had 35,000 homeless people living in the streets.  New York was said to have 50,000 homeless people.  But these cities have the tallest buildings in the world and the richest people in the world.  What happened?  It's the role models telling us that more is better.  Hate is normal.  And being sexy and hot is the only way to be.  We don't have a chance in the world with a world that is teaching these things.  C.
