Every time an airplane shoots its guns, it takes gun camera pictures. 
Here are some great pictures from the gun camera of a P-47 Thunderbolt in World War 2 pacific.
These pictures are 35mm photos on a contact sheet so you can see a frame by frame sequence of the shots.
The pilots also have a switch that enables them to turn on their gun camera without shooting their machine guns.
