Helmut Linzbichler - Austria

Helmut Linzbichler, whose original hometown is Kapfenberg,
Austria, has an absolutely remarkable running and adventure
career. He completed the Trans America footrace from California
to New York in 64 days (3,100 miles) and the Transalp Mega
Marathon across the Austrian Alps in 40 days (1,300 miles). He
has also completed most of the big USA 100 mile+
ultra marathons, including Badwater, Leadville, Wasatch, Vermont,
Western States and Old Dominion as well as a host of
international ultra races such as Del Passatore, La Grand Raid and
Comrades. By the end of 2002, Helmut had run an amazing 144
   marathons and 44 ultra marathons.

But Helmut's outdoor activities are not confined to running. He has
also pursued extreme mountaineering activities, scaling some of
the world's highest peaks, including Pakistan's Mt. Nanga Parbat
which is a most formidable 8,125 meters. However, not content
with merely climbing mountains, he has skied down the glacier of
Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895m) on the SE-side.

Helmut additionally holds a private pilot license, has been a head
hockey referee in the Austrian premier league, is a licensed rescue
swimming instructor, a soccer coach, a ski instructor for alpine and
Nordic skiing and a licensed coach for track and field. He has
placed at national championships and represented his country in
   running on numerous occasions.

It seems like there is nothing that Helmut has not done, except to
run a marathon at the North Pole. We are chuffed to facilitate him
achieve this feat on April 17, 2003.

Helmut is originally from Austria but lives in the state of Michigan in the USA.  He is not only a Marathon Runner, but he is also a life long Ski Instructor.  He has climbed to the top of Mt. McKinley and has done many other incredible things in his life.  Definitely a tremendous person.
