Before this summer, Libby never really had the chance to do anything worthwhile, ever. Libby comes from a very disadvantaged background. But I'll tell you the real truth.  Libby is a sweet, pretty young lady with good manners and a great future in store if she keeps doing the things that she did this summer and if we keep leading her in the right direction.
 
Libby is learning about the C-130 Hercules and learning that she has many future options.

The first time that I ever met Libby was in our local public housing development.   She didn't know me but since she was with one of my girlfriends friends I asked her what I always ask kids.  What are you going to do when you grow up?  She replied with the answer that lights up my ears. "I want to be a Air Force pilot,"   she said.  I was astonished because most kids just shrug their shoulders and say that they don't know and never really think about it. 

Since that time Libby has built an F-16 model, watched several airplane movies, learned all of the major components on the airplane, learned the four forces of flight, has taken her first airplane ride and received a Young Eagle certificate signed by General Chuck Yeager, actually flown a real airplane, visited the 183rd fighter squadron, learned about pilots life support equipment, and gone to the Quad Cities Airshow.
