Love your website.
When I was stationed at NAS Miramar in the early 70s the Vigilante was one of my favorite birds. I was Military Public Affairs Officer and spent allot of time among the squadrons, on the other side of the air station. We called it that because there was a delineation between the admin part of the air station, where I unfortunately worked.......LOL.......and the squadron side. I was fortunate enough to get allot of time in backseats of TA-4s, F-4s, F-14s and anything else I could talk the ops bosses into putting me in, however, unfortunately never got into the backseat of a Vigilante. I spent some wonderful years with the aviation community including a
tour with VAQ-135 tankers / EW who were at that time at NAS Alameda. I spent time in the third seat there and really enjoyed it also. Interesting comparing them with Miramar. Had the Navy permitted women to go to flight school in those days, my
flight bag and gear would have been packed before they could have cut orders to Pensacola for me.........LOL
Kindest regards,
Rosalee Adams
