This is one of the latest Russian Jet Fighters very similar to our X-29 forward swept wing fighter.  The forward swept wing allows for incredible reliability however it requires redudent computers which control the warp of the wing, an idea from the Wright Brothers.  If all of the redundent computers quit, the wings will tear off in about one second after computer failure.

This plane is a specially built airplane for Anti-submarine warfare.  It was first introduced in the mid seventies and is still in use today.  All of the previous anti-submarine aircraft were converted cargo or transport aircraft modified for Anti-subamrine warfare.
