One of the 55 single-seat Hawker Sea Fury I aircraft - known as the "Baghdad Fury" - flown by the Iraqi Air Force in the 1950s, this 1/72 scale die cast model features engraved panel lines, a cockpit with a bubble canopy and a pilot figure, wing-mounted rockets and fuel tanks, a rotating five-blade propeller, fixed landing gear, an authentic IQAF camouflage scheme, and more. 6" wingspan.

Furies and Fireflies Over Korea

Thomas. In the Korean War, British carrier-based, piston-engined Sea Fury and Fairey Firefly fighter-bombers fought wave after wave of Russian-built Yak and IL-10 Sturmovik attacks. They also used the Gloster Meteor jet to aid their war efforts. The author interviewed numerous pilots of the conflict to present this illustrated study of the men and machines of Britain who flew against the Communist forces from 1950 to 1953. 192 pgs., 50 B&W photos, 6"x 9", hdbd.

Introduced in 1931, the Hawker Fury Mk.I biplane was the first Royal Air Force fighter to exceed 200 miles per hour in level flight. In September, 1936, the South African Air Force received delivery of seven Furies, which, numbered 200-206, became the first single-seat fighters in the SAAF.

"206," a Fury flown by the SAAF's No. 2 Squadron in October, 1940, this 1/48 scale, die cast Hobby Master model features a detailed cockpit with a clear windscreen, a gun sight, and a removable pilot figure; a smooth, streamlined cowling with a rotating propeller; a prototypical oil cooler beneath the fuselage; detailed landing gear with a tail skid; and authentic markings, including SAAF roundels. 7" wingspan; includes a display stand.
