1916 Bomber

The first prototypes were flown on Marth 4th 1918 and were powered by two 230 horsepower Siddeley Puma engines used as pusher props.  This prototype only reached 90 mph at 15,000 feet with the specified bomb load.   Since the DH.10 did not meet the specifications they built a second prototype using two 360 hp Rolls-Royce Eagle VIII engines and first flew in April of 1918.  This prototype was called the Amiens Mark II.

The DH.10s were sent to RAF Squadron number 104 in November of 1918 and since the war soon ended, they flew a single bombing mission on November 1918.  After the war they were used as air mail service to the British Army for the occupation on the Rhine river.

The Airco DH.11 was a British twin-engined biplane bomber

Airco DH.11 Twin Engine Bomber Model Airplanes

The Airco DH.11 was a British twin-engined biplane bomber which was designed to replace the earlier Airco DH.10bomber. It was designed to use the unsuccessful ABC Dragonfly engine and was abandoned after the first prototype was built.

From early in 1917 until the end of the war the Royal Flying Corps had, in the form of the Bristol F.2B an agile fighter for use over France. The solid bi-plane construction soon proved to be a big success and the success rate increased in direct proportion to pilot experience. Fitted with the Rolls-Royce 275 hp Falcon III engine, the pilot had a forward firing 7.7 mm Vickers MG and the Observer a rotating Lewis Gun of the same caliber. A total of around 5329 of these aircraft were built. The F.2B remained in service with many Air Forces until as late as 1930.

The Caproni Ca.3 was an Italian heavy bomber that saw extensive use against the Axis forces. It was used from 1916 until the end of war by Italy, United Kingdom, France and USA.
One of the most effective bombers of any air force during WWI, the Ca.3 was a wooden three-engine biplane, armed with twin 6.5 mm or 7.7 mm machine guns and 1,760 lb of bombs.

Wings of Glory is a WW1 Dogfight game with these beautiful 1/144 Scale Models.  They have a lot of models that you can buy individually for the game or just your collection.

The Snipe entered service after the end of WWI. It was not a fast aircraft by the standards of its time, but its excellent climb and maneuverability made it a good match for contemporary German fighters. It was selected as the standard post-war single seat RAF fighter and the last examples were not retired until 1926.
In 1919, the Snipe took part in the Allied intervention on the side of the White Russians during the Russian Civil War, twelve Snipes being used by the RAF mission in north Russia. At least one of the RAF Snipes was captured by the Bolsheviks and pressed into service.
