This is the third big step in flight training; flying a real B-17 Flying Fortress WWII bomber.  This is where the whole crew works together to learn to work as a combat crew.  Here's where you learn to keep control of a four engine bomber aircraft when everything goes wrong.  This is the place where every man learns his job from the nose gunner to the pilot to the tail gunner and how they all work together as a team.  Flight training here teaches military tactics, formation flying, gunnery school, flight engineering work and navigating this huge beast.  The students learn about different types of bombs and their uses.  They learn how to work as a combat crew, as the bottom line.  After this last training step, they will be shipped over seas for their first exposure to the dangerous WWII flight missions.
