We are standing at the base camp for North Pole operations.  The camps name is Camp Barneo which is about 60 miles from the actual North Pole.  The Russian Mil Mi-8 helicopters are the powerful machines that take us from Camp Barneo to the actual Pole.  They are also used to transport members of the ski team and for emergency operations.  After getting to the actual North Pole, the Mi-8's take the skydivers up to about 10,000 feet for their super nice jump.   These are some great pictures of the Russian Helicopters.
