The US Navy F-18 Hornet, made by McDonnell Douglas is a multi role fighter which also performs the attack function. The F-18 has an empty weight of 23050 lbs. and a max weight of 56000 lbs. The F-18 Hornet uses two General Electric F-404 engines each producing 16,000 lbs of thrust, combined produce 32,000 lbs of thrust. Later versions of the F-18 produce more thrust than this "A" model. The F-18A has a max speed of 1190 mph and a maximum climb rate of 60,000 ft/min The F-18 is used by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
