Me 262A-2a 1/72 Die Cast Model

In early 1945, 104-victory ace Lt. Gen. Adolph Galland was tasked with forming a new unit, JV 44, to fly the Messerschmitt Me 262 - the world's first operational turbojet fighter - in a last-ditch effort to defend Germany and turn the tide of World War II. Originally conceived as a "pure fighter," the design and concept of the Me 262 had been altered by Hitler (to the dismay of Galland and other aces) to become a fighter-bomber.

The only Luftwaffe interceptor that stood a real chance of catching and destroying the de Havilland Mosquito was the Me 262, the world's fist operational jet.
