| How do airplanes work? How do airplanes fly? These are good questions. By looking at the links on this page you will learn about airfoils, wings, horizontal stabilizers and many aircraft parts. At the NASA site you will find out that everything that we believed about an airplanes wings were wrong. An airplane wing only produces a small portion of its lift by lowering the pressure on top of its wing. The actual term used to identify the reason that an airplanes wing produces lift is "Net deflection of the air" I have read several versions of this new lift theory, but none of them really, clearly explained it. I should have read the NASA version when I found it, I can't find it now but I will look for it soon. |
| If you really want to know about airplanes go to an EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) meeting. You will have a good time and they will enjoy your company. You can find the nearest chapter by clicking here. There are lots of different types of clubs but the EAA is about the largest of them all. |
